Fortnum & Mason are ubiquitous with style and luxury. Their fine food hampers are a must have for Christmas and for many years they have controlled a relative monopoly over this market.
In recent years, however, new entrants including John Lewis, notonthehighstreet.com and Selfridges as well as local artisan producers had caused Fortnum’s market share to fall, with an adverse knock-on to sales and revenue.
We created a full-service acquisition plan to stop Fortnum’s falling brand awareness. This included display, PPC, SEO and affiliates.
We wanted to reenergise the brand in its most relevant markets. We introduced new programmatic display advertising to these audiences and, by doing messages-testing, encouraged Fortnum to change their online brand position to rely less on luxury and more on desirability.
